The Reason and Purpose

Most people have come to understand that there is thinking and there is better thinking, and there are times, perhaps frequently, when it does not seem like we can control our thinking.  You can control more than you know and the more that you paractice the easier it will become.  With practice, we really can become much more masterful of our own thinking.  

For most people, better thinking is that which makes them feel loving and happy, stronger and more confident.

You will make yourself happier as you learn to control and channel your thoughts and feelings in a positive direction.  

Being the “Master of your thinking”, means that you think your thoughts with intention, and at all times.   You do not let your brain “think you”.  You do not let your brain feed you negative thoughts, as it will tend to do (because it is working on the “danger of survival principles”).  The brain will think for itself, when you allow it.  The brain will most definitely “think you”, if you accept it.   And consequently, it will teach you many negative beliefs.

Becoming the Master of your thinking, means mastering your brains desire to take you to survival.  You will never stop brain wander entirely and would not want to.  When the creative part of Brain Wander is in action and reaction with creative productive thinking, it is a beautiful interplay of the wandering brain coming up with new ideas based on the synthesis of unconscious information and productive thinking integrating and directing what to do with the creative thoughts.

What is most important is that you see survival thinking as it begins to make itself known, and you reject the thought and do not let yourself go into that state of consciousness.  

If you do get into that place and find negative feelings arise, can you then shine the light of BILAMAP and What would Love say? and use the negative feelings to energize a loving response.

If you want to take control of your brains survival oriented thinking, you have to decide that you want to think your brain with your volitional mind and your Meta Awareness.  This is really a must if you are going to work  towards a more enlightened mind which seeks a more peaceful, harmonious and loving state of existence.  Consequently, you start by realizing how you let yourself think in distressing ways.  Once determined, you want to minimize the stress thinking and replace it with love based thinking.

You should practice keeping your mind in control of your thoughts and not let your brain think you.  By keeping your mind in control, you become the master of where your thoughts take you, not your brain.  

Then, if you chose to think in the world of disconnecting thoughts (aggressive, uncaring, disregarding, diminishing thoughts) you will typically create stress, at least deep down in your awareness.  Disconnecting thoughts have their rewards!  You can have a lot of financial success being dominated by disconnecting thoughts and behaviors.  But most people living these attitude driven lifestyles, lead rather hollow lives.  They are fulfilled on the outside by wealth and power but are often lacking love on the inside.  This can lead to disillusionment and a desperate seeking of connection or the seeking of further isolation. 

One way out is adopting The 3 Mindful Practices.
